Best known as the closest settlement to Stonehenge, Amesbury is an attractive small town embraced by a loop of the River Avon as it cuts through the high plateau of Salisbury Plain.
Amesbury is located along the A303 and the A345.
From Swindon or Salisbury take the Wilts and Dorset service 5 or 6 bus to Amesbury. From Andover take the Number 8 "Activ8" bus. From Devizes take the Number 4 to Amesbury. From Bath, Bristol or Warminster take the X4 or X5 to Salisbury.
