Travel Guide Europe France Auvergne
Auvergne is one of the 26 administrative regions of France and is located in the central southern part of the country.
The Auvergne's highest mountain towers around 1,885 metres in the air and is not far from Clermont Ferrand, just like the lower but impressive and famous Puy-de-Dôme. To the south the terrain becomes rockier and flatter and over 70% of the Auvergne is covered with grasslands and woods.
The Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport (CFE) offers flights with Air France and Brit Air to Paris Orly Airport, while Régional flies to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, Amsterdam, Bastia, Ajaccio, Lyon, Nantes and Nice.
