Baluran National Park

Introduction

Baluran National Park is located in East Java and is home to beautiful savanna and hundreds of animal species. This is a hard place to reach, but that’s how it remains so pristine. Sights and Activities

Take a safari through the Bekol Savanna where you can see and hear countless birds including peacocks. They are easiest to find in August - their marriage month. On the other side of the park you can snorkel at the Bama beach and explore the varied ecosystem around the coral reefs. In the mornings you will wake up to the sound of birds but the best time to enjoy the romance of this place is at sunset. Sit with your loved on at the golden savanna resort and see the sun setting across the savanna. The sight is unforgettable.

Opening Hours

Baluran National Park is open all the time. It's good to visit year-round. But, the best months to travel are between July-August because there's a peacock marriage and the greatest savannas' view.

Cost

Cost to enter the National Park is quite cheap, about 2,500rp/person.Travel to this site is need much effort, cause there's no public transportation from the main city, Banyuputih.

Getting There

By Train

From the city of Jogja, Surabaya, or Malang, you could access Baluran from the city of Banyuwangi. After that, you could rent a car.

By Car

It's possible to rent a car from Malang or Surabaya, but it's much more expensive. So, the best way is, rent a car from city of Banyuwangi. It'll cost about 150,000rp for a car.

By Bus

By bus from Malang/Surabaya to Banyuwangi, you could stop the bus in Banyuputih.

By Boat

There's no cafetaria in the National Park, so you should buy and bring from the outside.
