Introduction

The Bhutan Folk Festival was organized to commemorate the 100 years of Monarchy and to celebrate the coronation of a new king in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. This event offers visitors a chance to experience and discover the living tradition and cultural heritage of Bhutan, the last Himalayan Kingdom.

This event was held in the vicinity of the Punakha Dzong (Fortress) from 13 to 15 December 2008.

It will showcase the living tradition of Bhutan. Traditional games like archery, Khuru (dart) Degor will also be played. Also, there will be conferring of white scarf to guests by the high priest.
