Getting There

By Plane

From Otopeni airport (Bucharest), you can catch flights (operated by Carpat air or tarom)3 times a week to Suceava. Suceava is served by Salcea airport, situated at 10 km from the city.

By Train

There are 3 types of trains in Romania:

  • Personal: not so comfortable, and slower because stops in every station but cheaper. Most personal trains are in bad condition, so use them only if necessary (some of them have disgusting bathrooms
  • Accelerat: faster, not so good looking, used to travel cheap at long distances, it stops in all cities.
  • Rapid: much faster than Accelerat, it stops in almost cities, a little bit more comfortable!
  • Intercity: the fastest, comfortable (having in mind the rest of them), the best choice for faster travel at long distances, stops only in major cities or feroviar nods.

From Bucharest, there are 5-6 trains that comes to Bucovina. For more information about the train trip: http://www.infofer.ro

Arrived, and eager to visit more... I indicate to use a car. Train you should use if you want to go in spa's like Vatra Dornei, or Campulung Moldovenesc.

By Car

E576 is the Bucovina's major road, because it's going trough the middle of it.
If you are coming from Transilvania (Cluj, Sighisoara, Sibiu, Targu Mures) you can use E576.
If you are coming from Bucharest .. use E85. (good shape).
The best way to travel in Bucovina is by car, so you even come with yours, even rent one.

By Bus

By Boat
