Sights and Activities

  • Prasat Hin Phanom Rung (ปราสาทหินพนมรุ้ง) - Prasat Him Phanom Rung is in Prakhon Chai District of Buriram. This stunning Khmer temple looks quite similar to Prambanan in Yogyakarta and Angkor Wat in Siem Reap. Phanom Rung has been the original name of the mountain itself and the sanctuary on top of it since at least 989 or the 11th century A.D. Prasat Him Phanom Rung is a sanctuary dedicated to the Pasupata sect of Sivaite Hinduism which believed in the God Siva.
  • Khao Kradong Forest Park (วนอุทยานเขากระโดง) - This extinct volcano which stands at 265 metres high also houses the most important Buddha image of Buriram, Phra Suphattharabophit. You can see the town of Buriram which is about 7 kilometres away and its surrounding.
