Introduction

Cairo International Airport (CAI) is the biggest airport in Egypt and is located about 15 kilometres northeast of the centre of Cairo. It is the home base of the national airline of the country: Egypt Air.

Getting there and away

  • The Cairo Airport shuttle bus departs every half hour from the airport to Cairo.
  • The Airport Bus Service has both air-conditioned & non air-conditioned operating from Terminal 1. There are several stop bus stations; at Tahrir Square, downtown Cairo, Mohandesin, and along Pyramids Road in Giza.
  • Taxis are available at any time, and operated on a flat fee basis.

Getting around

An automated people mover of almost 2 kilometres is expected to go into operation by mid of 2011 and will link Terminal 1, the Air Mall , the Multi-storey Car Park and Terminals 2 and 3.
