Cape Breton Island is an island on the Atlantic coast of Canada and part of Nova Scotia province. Although officially an island, it is artificially connected to the rest of Nova Scotia by a causeway.

Cape Breton Island is about 10,300 square kilometres big and contains 4 out of 18 counties in Nova Scotia: Cape Breton, Inverness, Richmond, and Victoria. About 150,000 people live on the Cape Breton Island, although the region sees heavy declines since over a decade.
