Capri is a famous island in the Gulf of Napels, in the southern Campania region of Italy. It has bee a popular tourist spot litterally for ages! Roughly 130,000 people live on the island and the main town is called Capri as well.

Weather

Capri has a Mediterranean climate with warm, sunny and dry summers and mild and somewhat wetter winters. Summers last from June to September with temperatures usually around or just above 30 degrees Celsius and nights over 20 degrees. Winters last from December to February with around 12 to 16 degrees during the day and between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius at night. Most rain falls during the wintermonths but the island is not particularly wet. Summers can have months without rain.

Getting There

By Helicopter

A helicopter service is available from Naples airport to Capri. The flight takes 15 to 20 minutes and each helicopter can accommodate a maximum of four passengers.

By Boat

Capri is served by frequent ferry and hydrofoil services to Naples and Sorrento. There are more boats to other places in the Gulf of Naples and the Sorrentine Peninsula as well. Boats call at Marina Grande, from where you can take the funicular up to the village of Capri. A chair lift takes passengers to the top of the island.
