There are multiple buses per day between Nairobi and Eldoret, including those offered by Easycoach costing KSh950 (April 2009) and taking about 6 hours.
There are multiple buses per day between Eldoret and Kampala, including those offered by Kampala Coach costing KSh1,500 (April 2009) and taking about 6.5 hours. You won't get a good FX rate at the border so only change the minimum. The toilets at the border cost KSh200 (April 2009) though the janitor will try to charge what he thinks he can get away with. Kampala Coach drops off at several points in Kampala, so make sure you find the one closest to your intended accommodation.
