Ephesus was an ancient Roman and Greek city on the west coast of Anatolia. It is located near Selcuk, not far from Izmir in Turkey. The Turkish name (Efes) is the same as the most famous beer in the country, though one can only guess to its relation.
The Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was located here as well, but nothing more than the foundations remain today.
