Ezulwini lies in the Ezulwini Valley between Mbabane and Manzini. The valley is the homeland of Swazi royalty, centred on Lobamba.
Sights and Activities
- A hill south of Ezulwini apparently inspired Sheba's Breasts, mentioned in "King Solomon's Mines" by Rider Haggard.
- Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary is Swaziland's oldest conservation area and contains leopard, hippo, giraffe, crocodile, zebra, and various antelopes, plus other animals. Another attraction for backpackers is the hostel within the sanctuary. Accommodation at the hostel can be booked from the Big Game Parks office in the Gables shopping centre.
- Safaris to Mkhaya Game Reserve, where you have probably the best chance in Africa of seeing a black rhino in the wild, can be booked from the Big Game Parks office in the Gables shopping centre. Public transport to the reserve leaves from Manzini.
Ezulwini is on the main road between Mbabane and Manzini. Kombis (minibuses) cost E12 (Sep 2009) and take 20 minutes between Ezulwini and Manzini. Between Ezulwini and Mbabane, the cost is E7 (Sep 2009) and the journey takes about 10 minutes.

- Southern Cross Lodge, +268 76227920, email@example.com - a very pleasant and clean hostel run by a Spanish couple and their two dogs. The only drawback, for those without their own transport, is that the hostel is about 1 kilometre from the main road between Mbabane and Manzini, and about 2 kilometres from there to the shopping centre at the Gables. However there are frequent kombis along the main road, costing E4 (Sep 2009) to the Gables. A room with shared bathroom is E180 (Sep 2009). This is a Bazbus stop.
There's Internet at the Gables shopping centre, but it's dear at E40 per hour (Sep 2009) and slow.

It costs E24.6 (Sep 2009) to send a 1.3kg parcel to the UK by surface mail. Note that not all Post Offices can send parcels (for various reasons, e.g.part-time parcel dispatchers, no weighing machine, etc) but the one at Malkerns definitely can.
