Travel Guide > Europe > Norway > Fjærland
Fjærland is a small town (pop. 250) in central Norway, built on the edge of a fjord. In the winter months, the town virtually closes down as it is in accessible due to snow and ice.
The Glacier Museum is an interactive museum detailing the composition of glaciers and describing their lifecycle. For a taste of the real thing, Fjærland is bordered by two glaciers that accessible by car and foot.
Due to the small size of the town, there are few accomodation options. One of the most popular is the Hotel Mundal, built in the 19th Century.
