Geilo is located northwest of Oslo and offers beautiful scenery with a friendly and charming village that has been welcoming international visitors since 1890.
Geilo enjoys a typically long Norwegian winter season that stretches from early November until early May. Geilo Skicenter opened its first chair-lift in 1954 and has currently 20 ski-lifts of different types. Its maximum capacity is more than 25,000 passengers per hour. There are rarely queues, and there are 40 alpine slopes of varying degree of difficulty and length. Geilo also offers 220 kilometres of cross country tracks, giving skiers of all abilities the ideal conditions to enjoy this Nordic sport. From easy tracks in and around Geilo centre to expert tracks up in the mountains. Uncrowded pistes and very snow sure conditions coupled with warm and friendly makes Geilo a great place to go on a ski holiday!
