Gloucester

Introduction

Gloucester (pronounced 'Gloster') was an important town from Roman times and for many centuries was one of the English bulwarks against Welsh raids. The Dukedom of Gloucester has attached to royalty - a notable example being King Richard III before his accession to the throne - the present incumbent being a direct descendant of King George V.

The Royal Mail provides postal services in the United Kingdom.
