Introduction

Peru offers one of the most scenic mountain ranges in the continent and Huascaran National Park in the Cordillera Blanca is probably the most spectactular. Mountains to be climbed include Mount Huascaran (6768 meters above sea level) and it is best to base yourself in the town of Huaraz first. The Huascaran National Park is on the Unesco World Heritage List.
