Kyrenia has a typical Mediterranean climate with warm or hot summers from May to September and mild winters, when most of the rain falls. In summer, temperatures during the day average between 30 °C and 33 °C, dropping to a balmy 22 °C at night. Winters are mild, generally between 16 °C and 19 °C at daytime. December and January are the coolest and wettest months, and it rains here more often than inland Nicosia.
