Kyrenia has a typical Mediterranean climate with warm or hot summers from May to September and mild winters, when most of the rain falls. In summer, temperatures during the day average between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius, dropping to a balmy 22 degrees at night. Winters are mild, generally between 16 and 19 degrees at daytime. December and January are the coolest and wettest months, and it rains here more often than inland Nicosia.
