Saarbrücken is the capital of the German federal state of Saarland and has about 175,000 inhabitants.
Saarbrücken has a mild climate which is partly characterised by the maritime influences of the west but also by the more dry conditions of the continental climate. Average summer temperatures from June to early September are mostly between 20 °C and 25 °C during the day and around 10-15 °C at night. Winters from December to February are above zero during the day on average, though nights are slightly below zero.
Saarbrücken Airport (SCN) serves the city and has connections to Berlin, Palma de Mallorca, Burgas, Varna, Antalya, Hamburg, Luxembourg, Munich, Monastir, Djerba and Istanbul.

Although you will find the old post offices (mainly in the city centre), most of the smaller neighbourhood post offices are part of a small tobacco shop or grocery store.
