Introduction

The main Outdoor Museum of the Faroe Islands is in Hoyvik on the outskirts of Torshavn. Unlike many outdoor museums in Scandinavia, it does not consist of buildings and artefacts brought in from various places but is all a farm that was flourishing until well into the 20th century and its outbuildings.
