Introduction

Wellington International Airport (IATA: WLG, ICAO: NZWN) is close to the capital city and surrounded on two sides by local houses.

The airport deals with domestic flights to destinations on both the North Island and South Island, together with international flights to and from Australia.

Passengers leaving on an international flight will pay a $25 departure tax. The fee should be paid in the first floor departure area, before proceeding to the international gates.

Security for domestic passengers is at the individual departure gate. There are no facilities beyond the domestic security at each gate. For international passengers, there is a single security area prior to the individual gates.
