Introduction

Williamsburg, Virginia, is a wonderful way to step back in time. Around the 1930s, the Rockefeller family created Colonial Williamsburg as a model of colonial Virginia, including buildings, gardens, and actors. It is not advisable to go during the peak tourist season but can be very nice off-season. It is very hot and humid in Williamsburg in the summer but can be very nice in the late fall, winter (on nice days), and spring.

The city is home to the College of William and Mary, a very good state school in Virginia. The town and the school are on the small side but charming and attractive.

The US Postal Service is very good and well priced mail system. There are post offices in every small and large town for sending packages internationally or domestically. If wanting to send a letter or postcard it is best just to leave it in a blue mail box with the proper postage. There are also private postal services like FedEx, UPS and DHL.
