I completed the walk, starting in Sant Jean Pied de Port this September (2011) and arriving in Santiago 27 days later taking the popular "Camino Frances" or "French Road/Route". It was a life changing experience and Im very happy to answer any questions. I am only 20 and was budgeting my way across so ive got all the tips on budgeting, pack weights, what to take, what NOT to take and all the tips on Hostals and what not to miss!
My wife and I have walked various Caminos de Santiago in Spain (Francés, Sanabrés, Aragonés, Primitivo) in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. We served as "hospitaleros" in 2010 at Refugio Guacelmo in Rabanal del Camino. In 2013 we also volonteered as "Amigos" at the Santiago de Compostela pilgrims' office. You may find some of our early impressions on Youtube, keywords Santiago, Memories of a Great Road.
