Das Anwesen existiert schon seit mehr als 100 Jahren. Das Ambiente hat einen romantischen Stil und die Aufmachung wird von weißen Wänden, sowie Holzfenster, geraden Wegen durch Rundbögen hindurch und einem Innenhof mit Bäumen und Büschen etc. vervollkommnet. Die Charakteristika dieser Architektur stehen eng mit der chinesischen Kulturgeschichte im Einklang. Die ursprüngliche Anlage beinhaltet 10 Höfe, wobei sich das Hostel in Nummer 5 & 6 befindet. In der modernen Geschichte stellte es auch eine Basis der angesehenen Truppen der Roten Armee dar, die in Xi'an stationiert waren. So ist das neue Hostel in, und ein Teil von, dem ehemaligen Amt der früheren "Achten Einheit der Armee von Xi'an". Es stellte sich heraus, dass es zu verschiedenen Zeiten auch ein Posten für Untergrundaktivitäten, ein Kontaktbüro der Roten Armee und während der Fünfziger und Sechziger ein Zufluchtsort für diejenigen war, die am Krieg gegen Japan beteiligt waren. Ein Gedenkmuseum befindet sich auf dem gleichen Gelände direkt neben dem Hostel. Wir bieten außerdem einen Abholdienst von dem Fughafen und dem Bahnhof. Shuyuan Youth Hostel is located in the southern part of the central walled area of Xi'an, It's very convenient to many places you will want to visit, forget taxis you can walk to almost every location that you wish to visit, you truly are in the downtown area. While many local old buildings in Xi'an have been lost to the bulldozers of modernization, our hostel is a perfectly preserved traditional Chinese courtyard house. With several outdoor and indoor seating areas the atmosphere of our hostel is only matched by the friendliness of the staff. All of our front desk and restaurant staff speak English and will do their best to make your stay in Xi'an as comfortable and accommodating as possible.
