Willkommen in der südlichsten Jugendherberge Europas - einem Platz für Spaß, Abenteuer oder einfach nur Entspannung. Plakias ist ein idyllisches Dorf jenseits der hektischen Nordküste Kretas ganz im Süden gelegen. Manche unserer Gäste kommen wegen der fantastischen Wandermöglichkeiten zu uns. Noch immer findet man dabei einsame Strände, an den man kaum eine Menschenseele antrifft. Die Sportlichen zieht es in die Berge, die direkt hinter dem Dorf aufragen. Im Hostel erfährt man von versteckten Plätzen, wo man in klaren Bergbächen schwimmen kann. Einige andere kommen zu uns wiederum wegen den feinen Stränden und dem Nachtleben. Wir haben sechs große Bungalows mit jeweils 4 Stockwerkbetten. Im Sommer stellen wir auch noch ein extra Stockwerkbett auf die Terrasse der Bungalows, so daß bis zu 60 Gäste insgesamt Platz bei uns finden können. Strandmatten, Schnorchel, Volleybälle und Brettspiele gibt es bei uns gratis zu leihen. Getränke und Essen gibt es zu ausgesprochen günstigen Preisen. Die Jugendherberge öffnet in der Regel 2 Wochen vor Ostern bis Ende Oktober. Wir sind das wahrscheinlich preiswerteste Hostel in der ganzen Eurozone. This hostel is situated in the center of the picturesque Venetian old town of Rethymno, offering a small oasis of fun and relaxation to travellers from all over the world! It's set within peaceful surrounding streets yet close to the town's long sandy beach and exciting night-life. Entering from the street you will find a typical Venetian building with thick stone walls and wooden floors upstairs.Downstairs there is a beautiful patio surrounted by the green of our gardens for relaxation. If you use Rethymno hostel you'll have easy access to both the bus station for travel within the island, and the ferry port for boats to and from Piraeus. Centrally positioned on the island of Crete, travellers can use the hostel as a base for day trips to the most attractive sites of the island like the Samaria Gorge, Lake Kournas, Preveli beach, Falasarna, Elafonisi e.t.c. or the various historical and archeological sites around. In the evening most travellers gather for a drink ( or two ) on the hostel's patio to chillout, before starting the usual restaurant and bar hopping!!! Recently we developed the option of having very inexpensively priced YOGA CLASSES within the hostel grounds for our guests, from an experienced qualified Hatha Yoga Teacher!!!
