Mendoza
Mendoza is a city in the western region of Cuyo in Argentina. It's the capital of the province of Mendoza and the urban area has close to 1 million inhabitants (the city itself is much smaller though). Mendoza forms the centre of the Argentinian wine industry and closeby is the highest peak of the western hemisphere: the Aconcagua.

Mosquitoes and black clothing
Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm going to be doing the Inca Trail anyway, and probably a lot of other less strenuous ones. I'm also thinking about spending some time in Mendoza and maybe doing some trekking in the Aconcagua region... Then in Asia, I'm planning on Mount Kinabalu and hopefully some treks ...

Sure...Here. I was taking the bus from Mendoza to Buenos Aires....a marathon over 14 hours. Sucked. Anyways, they have all these double decker buses. The upstairs is nice and bright and spacious...Downstairs is like steerage on the Carpathia...hot and cramped and dark.....So, of course I chose steerage. You meet ...
