For this event, the beach is brought to the city - literally. Thousands of pounds of sand are dumped onto the streets lining the canal, where beach chairs and umbrellas are set up. Beach parties, barbecues, picnics, water sports, volleyball, and street concerts are held during this month. If a trip to the ocean is not in your travel plans, this event is a great way to enjoy the beach even when you're land-locked in the city.

Hostel Scandinavia

It´s good, I have no problem. I´ve been for 5 nights and it´s all correct: it´s clean, comfortable, and great located 5 minutes to underground station "Clemenceau", and in underground only 1 stop to "Gare du Midi - Zuidstation" one of de most importants train stations of Brussels. Auberge des 3 Fontaines

It was really awful!!The showers were musty, and in the ladys cabin was a men who was looking at naked young girls!! In the bed were pubes and hair and the Floor was dirty!! You have to go trough a sports hall which is very stinky!! Nobody spoke good english there and i don´t understand french. ... more

Good for a hostel. Bathrooms a bit run down. Stayed in 2 different rooms, both with ensuites but only one with a toilet. Some staff are awesome and some just waiting for there shift to finish.
