Ipoh is the capital city of the state of Perak, Malaysia. It has well over 700,000 inhabitants, and was once a bustling commercial hub, with vast fortune made from a vibrant tin-mining industry. However, with the collapse of tin prices in late 1970's and the depletion of tin deposit, the mines were abandoned and shut.
