Worth catching a bus from Rio to Salvador?
It's a veeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrry long bus ride, about 26 hours +. With only 2 1/2 weeks, fly if you can. (Actually Webjet has some fares that are half the price of the bus.) Or you can take most of the 2 1/2 weeks and go more slowly up the coast, stopping at Porto Seguro/Arraial D'Ajuda and Ilheus ...

Im not sure if you want to relax or party. But a 4 hour boat south of Salvador is Morro de Sao Paulo. Its a really nice place to relax and or party.
