Essaouira

Essaouira along the central western coast of Morocco is a laid-back and peaceful place (no traffic within the huge walled area), lots of cafes in squares to lounge around and drink mint tea and just soak up the atmosphere. You can walk everywhere in Essaouira as it is relatively small.

Fantastic little hostel! Unassuming, possibly a little difficult to find, but when you do, it's a hidden oasis right in the middle of the medina. Clean cosy rooms, free wifi, fireplace and a library of guidebooks. Make sure you go up to the roof top for a drink at sunset or check it out at sunrise. Such great value- would definately go back :) ... more
