Ko Samui (เกาะสมุย) is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand. It is the third largest island in Thailand and has a population of about 47,874 people making it very underpopulated. This island started as the originally hippy backpacker destinations in the 1970s and because of the influx of massive tourism the island has changed.
