Mendoza

Mendoza is a city in the western region of Cuyo in Argentina. It's the capital of the province of Mendoza and the urban area has close to 1 million inhabitants (the city itself is much smaller though). Mendoza forms the centre of the Argentinian wine industry and closeby is the highest peak of the western hemisphere: the Aconcagua.

Very convenient getting to/from bus station, and fairly close to center. A bit noisy due to traffic if you are in the 6bed dorm on the streetside. The 12 bed dorm was quiet and recently renewed. What a terrible hostel!! First we changed room.2 times.Everywhere noise. There were smokers all around the hostel(at bar-also breakfast room) it was smelling like on railway station next to the smokers place. We had a 6 person dorm.4 of 6 lockers had broken doors so we couldnt lock our stuff there. ... more
