Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is the capital, largest city and most wealthy city in Cambodia. The city was first settled in 1372. It did not become very important untill Angkor fell to Siam, at that time the King of Cambodia moved the capital nearby to current day Phnom Penh. Phnom Penh itself was not official the capital of Cambodia until 1865.

The staff were super friendly and helpful for all our needs. Prices are very reasonable and the location is tops. The only bad thing I would say is that some of the rooms don't have windows to the outside world. It odd to wake up with no visual queues of where the sun is and no way to get some fresh air into the room. ... more

I liked that the hostel was a bit outside the turistarea, you where able to eat with locals and still have a 15 minute walk to the busy turistarea that I wanted to avoid.

The room we've booked was nice but the AC was noisy and not cool at all. We asked to switch the room and the staff gave as a better room, bigger with extra bed.
