Port Douglas
Port Douglas is a smart resort town 70 kilometres north of Cairns. There are plenty of nice, if pricey, places to stay and eat here, and good upscale shopping. Many Great Barrier Reef tours start from Port Douglas.

Global Port Douglas is a fairly new hostel.. The common areas like the kitchen, living room and bathroom were all modern and clean. The rooms were your standard compact hostel rooms. The beds only had a sheet to sleep under, but it was hot so I didn't mind. It has a great location right in the heart of Port Douglas's quaint main street. ... more
