This hostel is well located in the historic part of the city, close to the port. Taxi fom the bus station was about $8. No signage, just find the address and ring the bell! The building is well, old..... but under improvement by the owners, who are very friendly and super helpful. Don´t expect luxury here, but you can expect a clean hostel environment and a comfortable bed. Bathrooms have been renovated and are spotless, but water does not flow in great abundance or consistently. Don´t bother with the breakfast offered, or the kitchen, one would be far better off in one of the many vey affordable cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood. My one suggestion to Fransisco & Luis would be to offer strongboxes for money, passports etc, as the rooms are not very secure, and I found the entry door open a couple times.
At Ukelele Hostel you feel like home. Our hosts were quite kind and very helpful with giving guidance to enjoy the city. The place is absolutely beautiful and really peaceful. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed.
