We stayed in Fortaleza for a World Cup match and this hostel exploited the situation in the grossest possible way. They had poorly constructed 'triple' bunkbeds being cramped in a closet of a room. Have you seen the movie Stepbrothers...the scene where they want to make bunkbeds? Well, this is worse. They took normal twin beds and triple stacked them so there was no room at all to get in and out of the beds (poor person at top was so close to ceiling there was no air to breath!). Beds were held together with planks of wood nailed to the boards. My friend punctured her finger with one sticking out of the ladder and I caught a rusty nail sticking out near my pillow. The support beams of the top and middle bunks were broken and the entire structure was unsturdy. We demanded a new room and were moved. Upon check out, whatever poor souls were given our old bunks must have fallen through as the supporting planks were broken. The rooms had no windows and they turned off the AC after morning because of 'operating hours'.
