As wide as all the world, great, high, and unbelievably white in the sun, was the square top of Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Kilimanjaro, at 5895 metres, is the highest peak in Africa. It also has the distinction of being the tallest free-standing mountain (i.e. not in an mountain range) and the tallest "walkable" mountain in the world.
