I've never bought insurance when travelling. So far, I've been lucky and haven't needed it (knock on wood!) But if you are going for a longer trip, or like extreme sports, it might be a good idea. I think my parents have used Blue Cross travel insurance, but they've been lucky too, and never needed it. ...
