Cambridge is home to one of the most famous Universities in the World. The oldest college, Peterhouse, was founded in 1284. The ancient city centre is well preserved, with a wide range of historic buildings and sights for the visitor to enjoy.

With a sunnier day in store, I walked into Cambridge. It doesn't take long to be assaulted by the history here – it's almost overwhelming because everywhere you turn there is another ancient building – either a church or a Cambridge college. It also doesn't take long to get assaulted by tour groups ...

It didn't seem to get down much below zero last night, so today we decided to take a chance and drive over to Cambridge (just 25 miles). Parking is just about impossible in the city, so the various Park and Ride locations are the go (2.30 GBP return) although it's still a slow ride in on the bus ...
