It is odd to arrive at an international port that is over 3,860 metres high. But that is how high Puno is located. This small town has an odd mixture of international port, tourist centre and Andean meeting place. Being the only easy way to access Lake Titicaca on the Peruvian side the town attracts many tourists.

The drive to Puno was much shorter than expected. Maybe only a few hours had passed before we were in Puno being pushed off the bus. And the smell of wee in the station was very unpleasant. euurgghhh ...
