Yesterday was one of the longer days of my life. I spent my last night in the Hotel Intercontinental and woke up for an early breakfast with Lucia. After breakfast, I think we walked around 10 miles. Starting at the Plaza del Sol and making our way through the Plaza Mayor, we ended up at the Catedral de la Almudena. I don't think I have seen a building more beautiful en toda mi vida (although I am sure I will see more in the coming weeks). Inside and out, this place was magnificent. Its next door neighbor was not bad either -- the Palacio Real. Lucia and I were not going to enter because the line was an hour long, but as we were walking away, we passed the side entrance where no one was waiting. So we ended up walking around the courtyard and and taking a few forbidden pictures in the Royal Armory.
