My passion for independent travel began with a round the world trip in 2006, backpacking solo round South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and China, ending with the Trans-Siberian train journey across Mongolia to Russia.
My travels have taught me a lot, allowed me to make some great friends and most of all given me some of the best days of my life. I’ll never tire of travelling, there are still so many places I’ve yet to see, the list just keeps getting longer!
Favourite places:Asia is just so captivating, with its friendly people, amazing landscapes and fusion of ancient traditions and modern life, nowhere encapsulates this more than China, a country so diverse and fascinating.
I visited China towards the end of a round the world trip in 2007, highlights included the beautiful tiger leaping gorge trek, seeing giant pandas, the terracotta warriors and of course taking in some pretty amazing food along the way!
I had some great experiences during my time there, walking along a deserted part of the Great Wall on a beautiful spring day ranks as one of my most memorable.
