Travelling to a country that doesn’t exist…

In April I am planning to go on holiday to a country that, by all accounts, does not officially exist!

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (more widely known as the TRNC or just North Cyprus), apparently only receives diplomatic recognition from Turkey and not the United Nations or the European Union. It is therefore not recognised by most of the world and could be said not to exist!

Fortunately I know that North Cyprus is in fact real as my friend (Angela) moved there a year ago to live and I am planning on heading out their in late April to see her for two weeks. Angela raves about the place– great value for money, friendly locals, a good ex-pat community on hand to help settle in, oh and of course plenty of sun, sea and sand! She sent me a few photos to ‘wet my appetite’ - I have put up for people to see.

Personally I’m quite excited by the concept of going on holiday to such a place, as apparently there are no big commer
