Malaysia in a Moustache – Gunung Ledang – Jementah
It’s about time the Man in a Moustache challenged himself a little. Although enjoyable, it’s pretty easy to cruise Malacca’s scenic streets or drive through Malaysia’s stunning countryside. It takes a little more effort to climb one of its most historic mountains. For this I headed to Gunung Ledang, a 1200 meter mountain on the Johor/Malacca border famous for the legend of its stunning princess.
Gunung Ledang is said to be the home of the legendary ‘Princess of Gunung Ledang’. Known throughout the land for her incredible beauty, she had many suitors including the Sultan of Malacca. The Sultan was stubborn and persistent in courting the princess but heartbroken from a lost love, she set unattainable conditions for her affection including a golden bridge for her to walk to Malacca from the mountain and a silver bridge to return, seven jars of virgin tears, seven bowls of betel nut juice, seven trays filled with hearts of ger
