Hardly any new things can be written about the tourist sites of Rio so I prefer to write some controversial comments. I stick to my recommendation not to pick Rio if you are considering a trip to Brazil. Rio is a very unfriendly city for a European tourists. The crowds that cover all the spaces of the city consider every tourist-like person a US-American, ignorant with loads of money - a gringo. They will pester you and torment for money or purchase of things nobody really neads.
Interestingly, my Brazilian friends from the middle-class agree with me 100%. What is amazing it is the underprivileged who totally lack the insights into the causes of their misery and suffering. No chance there for a popular uprising or revolution against the elites ![]()
