With its 1.241192 km², Mali is the largest country in West Africa, bordered by Algeria to the north, Senegal to the west, Mauritania to the northwest, Niger to the east, and Burkina Fasso and Cote d'Ivoire to the south. The country is divides into eight administrative regions: Kayes, Koulokoro, Sikasso, Ségou, Mopti, Timbuktu, Gao, Kidal and Bamako a District and Capital.
