With a heavy heart I left my favourite city in Europe, beautiful Vienna, and took a train to Salzburg. It was hard leaving Vienna for several reasons, 2 full days in that city is not enough time to trully enjoy it, and that I didn't have the chance to meet up with my new Australian friend again. Travelling alone by train to Salzburg, I met a variety of people who came and went in my train compartment. Locals, tourists, businessmen, most were eager to chat with a Canadian.
This was my second visit to Salzburg, and like before, it was drizzling when I arrived.

From Prague, we took a very long train ride to Vienna, Austria on May 22nd. Due to the Danube previously flooding its banks, our train had to take a few detours and stops. I stayed at a different place from my mother, brother and his girlfriend, because I wanted to splurge and stay at a hotel rather than a pension like we did at a previous trip to Vienna. It was well worth it, it had the comfiest bed during my entire trip to Europe! While there, on the 24th, I took a 3 hour city tour of Vienna and Schonbrunn Palace. I met a really nice guy from Perth, Australia on that tour. Wished I had stayed longer. On the 25th, I took a train to Salzburg to meet up with my family who had gone there earlier. We took a day trip to Werfen to visit the Hohenwerfen castle. On the 27th we travelled to Graz where my mother's relatives live. I stayed for a few days there before I had to take a plane back to Vancouver, BC Canada.

Vancouver BC Canada is my hometown and I would be more than happy to help with info on what to see downtown, or day trips from the city, weather facts, public transit, pubs and restaurants, etc.

Looking for Carolin Knapp (maiden name) from small town in southern Germany, near Lake Constance. We met at the YMCA hostel at the Barbican Centre in the City of London, I think in March or April that year. The Shakespeare Pub was across the street, you liked drinking cider with blackcurrant. We then shared a flat with some Australians near Bayswater. When you went back to Germany, we wrote for a year or two. Have lost your address since then.

You met me, Ian, Ayesha, Brent, etc. at the Milieu restaurant on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver. It has since been replaced by another restaurant. After work we would all go to late night cafes, English Bay, etc. You were from Manchester England and was staying and working in Vancouver for the summer.
