Citizenship: United KingdomOla! Welcome to our travel log!
We will try to keep this updated so you can follow our travels through Central America this summer-we can't wait!! We'll be flying out on May 21st from dreary London Heathrow to Madrid and then onwards to San Hose in Costa Rica where we will meet our host family the Hurtados- all 6 of them, mum, dad, son, daughter, grandma and dog! We'll stay with them for the first month in Heredia where we will learn some Spanish (hopefully) and try some surfing (definately!).Then it's on to Quepos on the Pacific coast to volunteer on the education outreach project which helps the local community and finally North West to Monteverde to help on a project which aims to empower local women in the area. Following Costa Rica we're going to travel up to Mexico City, hopefully taking in as much of Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatamala on the way up, as we're testing the waters from other travellers on the way this route may well change! Hope you will all keep in touch, you can leave messages on this site too(once you've signed in)
Take care, see you in August!!
Love Claire and Victoria xx

we are in mexico city baby! we arrived ok,got here at about 4pm and it was a lovely sunny day so we took a stroll around the Zocalo Square where there are aztec ruins, the cathedral and the presidential palace, its all very grand and massive!!when we flew in this afternoon we flew right above the centre and its one impressive city,it just goes on and on as far as you can see and its all hemmed in by mountains-apparently drinking just one beer here has the same effect as drinking three back home as we are so high up at 1500m-now there is a fact I bet you didnt know!
luckily we were not as late arriving this time as in playa del carmen but we ve still done a bit of waiting around today as the plane got delayed by a couple of hours this morning-fingers crossed that doesnt happen tomorrow!
Both really impressed with Mexico city its a wonderful place and soooo much cheaper than rip off playa!,its completely not like you imagine it to be its beautiful, busy but clean and it has
