Cairo Hotel review: Ramses II hotel and hostel

Extremely central location in Cairo's shopping area, but high above the street noise and pollution on 12/13 floor. Metro station and restaurants are nearby, and dens serving cold beer are in 5 min walking distance. Friendly staff, slightly pushy with the (good value) tours they offer. Rooms are reasonably clean but have seen the latest redecoration at the times of Ramses or Tuthmosis. Breakfast is a bit disappointing, but be realistic: Can you expect more for 15 euro?
I recommend this hostel, mainly because of the location and the staff, but the fastidious and the squeamish should look elsewhere (and pay more).
