Istanbul
After our Indian adventures, we were ready to head to Turkey for some good (and sanitary) food and relaxation. We flew into Istanbul and started taking advantage of a really great website called Couchsurfing.org. With it, we've been able to hook up with locals who offer a place to stay and local info. We met some really great hosts and were excited to eat, drink, and be merry! However, a little bit of India stayed with us: Laura had unending bouts of diarrhea. After a trip to the amazingly lavish Turkish hospital, we found out that she was laid up with traveller's diarrhea (a bacterial infection). Jason came down with it a couple days later. Still determined to see the sights, we visited palaces and museums, while taking countless runs to the bathroom. It was rough, but it didn't deter from our amazement of the sights.
