Cologne Hotel review: City Hotel Koeln am Neumarkt

I was highly impressed. It was clean, comfy, unfussy, and very good value. The staff - particularly Annalise - were extremely helpful and genuinely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was scrummy and plentiful . . . I could go on but you might think (incorrectly) that I was being paid to be so glowing! In short, I'd very happily stay there again. It's about a 20-minute walk from the main station/cathedral, though, not a few minutes (as is currently stated on Travellerspoint). The hoof was OK for me but others may prefer to take a taxi or public transport. John B, Portsmouth, England. (Date of stay: June 2009.)
